Welcome to James Clark Photography
As an international award winner in photography my passion for capturing life's most cherished moments is a passion. With over two decades of professional photography experience, I bring a diverse skill set to the art of visual storytelling.
My Photography Odyssey
My voyage into the captivating world of photography commenced during my service in the United States Navy. As a submarine communications specialist, I wore multiple hats—including radio operator, ship photographer , and periscope technician. But it was my time in the Navy’s Public Affairs group that truly broadened my horizons. Armed with my camera, I documented the Navy’s vital contributions to global security, capturing moments that resonated far beyond the ocean’s depths.
Exploring the Globe Through My Lens
This adventure took me to distant corners of the world, where I immersed myself in the rich tapestry of global cultures. From bustling ports to serene landscapes, I framed life’s fleeting instants, each click of the shutter etching memories into my soul. But my journey didn’t end there.
Serving at the Naval War College and Beyond
In Washington, DC, I played a pivotal role in supporting the Presidential Inauguration—an electrifying experience that blended history, politics, and visual storytelling. At the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island, I honed my craft further, capturing the essence of naval strategy and intellectual pursuit.
Yet, my lens also witnessed the grit and valor of our troops. As an operations chief and combat cameraman for an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit deployed to Afghanistan, I documented the dedicated service of our Soldiers and Sailors.
Navigating the High Seas and Museums Alike
Off the coast of Libya, aboard a NATO battle group, I framed naval power against the vast expanse of the Mediterranean. And back on home soil, as Deputy Command Information Officer for the History and Heritage Command in Washington, DC, I orchestrated the integration of eleven Naval Museums across the United States. Each museum held stories—of heroism, innovation, and legacy—waiting to be told through my lens.
Utilizing my GI Bill benefits, I pursued higher education at the University of Central Florida. There, I became deeply involved with the college newspaper, and my passion for photography continued to grow. Subsequently, I embarked on a journey within the local newspaper industry, where I had the privilege of documenting the vibrant stories of our communities.
I am truly honored to offer my expertise and artistic vision to help you capture and preserve your most precious moments. Whether it's a milestone event, a breathtaking landscape, or a simple yet profound moment in time, I'm dedicated to ensuring that these memories are cherished for generations to come. Let's embark on this photographic journey together, turning fleeting moments into timeless treasures.
